EACSD provides a generic non-proprietary standard format for digital channel survey data. The format stores open channel cross-sections, structure cross-sections and bank line data, together with surface characteristics (for the calculation of roughness).

It allows surveyors to concentrate on providing the structured data that modellers need to improve the efficiency of the overall modelling process. It enables modelling software to gain as much from the survey as possible with significantly reduced human intervention.

To keep data inconsistencies to a minimum, we have developed the EACSD Validator. Surveyors will be required to run their EACSD files through it, correct any errors and provide the certificate of conformance with their data to the end client.
